Doesn’t Islam forbid premarital relationships between men & women aka dating? If the answer is yes, then how come you are in a relationship at the moment?
It’s all about what’s meant by this “relationship” and the borders set for it. People who got married should have known each other before getting married - doesn’t have to be through a western style dating - because I don’t involve in such relationships as dating.
If you think you have interest for someone and expressed it and communicated the possibility of living life together and while doing that respected Islamic teachings then I personally do that, not saying that it’s perfect, but being in a relationship with a respectful religious person make sure that the islamically acceptable values borders aren’t crossed even if you forget you’ll find the other reminding you.
